Former Dynamo head coach Andrei Kobelev talked about the success of the team’s goalkeeper Anton Shunin, who surpassed the legendary Lev Yashin in the number of matches of the blue-whites. In his comments to socialbites.ca, the expert noted that there are now very few players affiliated with a single team.

“We see that there are almost no players left who have played for the same team throughout their lives, there are too many transfers. And it is Anton’s great achievement that Dynamo has made so many appearances,” Kobelev thinks.

This match was the 359th match in his career for Shunin, who was in the first 11 of the team against Fakel (1:1) in the 18th round match of the Russian Premier League (RPL). Yashin is the only goalkeeper in football history who managed to win the Golden Ball. He played 358 matches for the Moscow club.

Shunin took third place at Dynamo in terms of the number of matches for the club. The record belongs to Alexander Novikov with 395 matches. In second place is Alexander Makhovikov (363).

On July 24, 2021, Shunin became Dynamo’s record holder in the number of matches in the top league of the Russian Championship – he played 240 matches (surpassing Alexander Tochilin, who played 239 matches).

Previously Kobelev statedHe said that the weather affected the match between “Fakel” and “Dinamo”.
