The International Boxing Association (IBA) has terminated membership of the national associations of the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Germany and Sweden TASS.
The decision was taken at the IBA Congress in Dubai.
IBA is chaired by Russian Umar Kremlev. The organization refused to comply with the recommendations of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to deprive Russian and Belarusian athletes of national identity due to the events in Ukraine. The Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden and many other countries left the IBA in protest to form their own World Boxing organisations.
On December 8, it was learned that Russians could go to the 2024 Olympics with neutral status. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) said Russian athletes will be required to sign updated conditions of participation, which include a commitment to respect the Olympic Charter, including the “peaceful mission of the Olympic movement”. Russian athletes who rank well in their own disciplines will be allowed to compete.
Previously Kremlin compared IOC recommendations with rejection of the biological mother.
