“I’m not particularly excited about this. Many federations sent us questions on this subject. We made it clear that this was not consistent with our values and the competition calendar,” Coe said.
The World Friendship Games are planned to be held in Russia in 2024. It will be held in Moscow and Yekaterinburg between 15-29 September 2024. This is the first multi-sport competition to include performances in all 25 Summer Olympic and non-Olympic sports.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) said Russian athletes will be required to sign updated conditions of participation, which include a commitment to respect the Olympic Charter, including the “peaceful mission of the Olympic movement”.
