Washington Capitals forward and captain Alexander Ovechkin became the second hockey player from Europe to reach 1,500 points in the National Hockey League (NHL).

The Russian joins Czech forward Jaromir Jagr, who has accumulated 1,921 points in 1,733 games throughout his NHL career.
