Old Zenit St. Petersburg striker Igor Zazulin criticized the level of play of Spartak defender Georgy Dzhikia. His words are quoted legal betting.
“I don’t like Jikia. Thanks to him, Spartak scores a lot of goals. Jikia has his faults. Cordoba handled confrontations with him effortlessly, accepting everything, binding everything, turning everything upside down.
Jikia is very swollen. We didn’t have a left-footed defender, that’s a problem. If Dzhikia was not a left-footer, then the question was whether he would get into Spartak based on his qualities,” Zazulin said.
Dzhikia has been playing for Spartak since 2017. With the club he won the championship and the Russian Cup. The defender has only played in six of a possible 17 matches in the Russian Premier League (RPL) this season. His contract with his club expires in June 2024. The player’s agent confirmed that Lokomotiv are interested in the defender.
Spartak, which collected 27 points after 17 rounds in the RPL, is in seventh place in the rankings. In the 17th round, Guillermo Abascal’s team lost to Akhmat with a score of 1:2.
