Football coach Evgeny Kaleshin, who was recently fired from the First League club Akron, called on foreign experts working in Russia to learn Russian. He mentioned this in an interview “RB Sports”.

“In Europe you have to speak the local language within a month. If we don’t respect our work and our players, everyone will kick us. Strict conditions must be imposed, such as the foreign coach must learn Russian within two months and the press conference must be held only in Russian. If he doesn’t learn the language, he’ll get his ass kicked, a huge fine, and fired.

If you don’t learn the language, you don’t respect Russia. You have been working at Spartak for more than a year and you do not speak Russian; How is this possible? Do you always have some kind of encouragement with you? It doesn’t work like that! But for some reason it works for them,” said the expert.

Kaleshin was fired from his position as coach of Akron after making loud statements about Russian football. His team lost to Volgar with a score of 0:1. The expert accused the referee of incorrectly counting the goal. Kaleşin also touched upon the need to break the Russian football system from within and pointed out that this sport was being deliberately destroyed.

The 45-year-old specialist has been at the helm of Akron since September 2022. The team played 57 matches with him, winning 28, drawing 19 and losing 10. Akron reached the final of the Russian Cup Road to Regions last season.
