On December 3, Haber reported that the Turkish club would make an offer to the Red and Whites for the transfer of the 31-year-old striker.
Promes has been playing for Spartak since February 2021. He previously played for the red and whites between 2014 and 2018. The Dutch player became the Russian champion with the team in the 2016/17 season.
This season, Promes played in 15 matches in the Russian Premier League (RPL) and scored 5 goals and 6 assists. The Dutch player played four matches in the Russian Cup, scoring two goals and providing two assists.
On 1 December, Sport-Express reported that Promes was close to automatically extending his contract with Spartak by one year.
