Russian dance duo Annabel Morozov/Igor Eremenko is considering the idea of changing their sports citizenship. This was reported by RIA News.
According to the publication, the skaters broke up with their mentor Anzhelika Krylova, with whom they worked this season. The couple is currently moving to the United States, where they will be under the supervision of their partner’s father, coach and choreographer Nikolai Morozov.
Currently, the athletes are exploring the option of joining the French national team, according to the publication. Skaters thought about this six months ago.
This season, Morozov/Eremenko could not compete in any stages of the Russian Grand Prix due to their partners’ injuries. She received seven stitches after a collision with Elizaveta Shanaeva during the warm-up. The pair also failed to qualify for the Russian Championships.
Morozov had previously performed with Andrei Bagin and David Narizhny. In 2023, she teamed up with Eremenko, who won the bronze medal at the 2019 World Junior Championships with her former partner Sofia Shevchenko.
