Roma head coach Jose Mourinho said that he was not ready to play Serdar Azmun and Paulo Dybala together. His words are quoted Football Italy.
“We were a bit unbalanced against Azmoun and Dybala. I like Azmoun but he lacks the defensive ability to be a real Mourinho player. Dybala is not that disciplined defensively either, so you can get by with one of them, but not with two.” said Mourinho.
On 26 August, Roma announced a one-year loan deal for Azmoun from Bayer Leverkusen. The Iranian football player’s contract with the German club is valid until 2027. The striker, who played a total of 23 matches in the Bundesliga last season, scored 4 goals and 1 assist. The club finished in sixth place.
The striker played for Zenit from 2019 to 2021, prior to which he defended Rubin Kazan’s jersey.
The Iranian striker made eight appearances and scored one goal in the current Serie A season. Dybala scored three goals and made four assists in nine matches.
