With the Euro 2024 On the horizon, attention is increasingly focused on the draw for next summer’s tournament in Germany and fans will soon be able to start making plans to support their national teams in the continental competition.

Italy are the current champions after beating England at Wembley on penalties in the summer of 2021. With the 2020 European Championship postponed for 12 months due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the Qatar World Cup moved to the final Last year the football calendar was more satiated than ever.

The next European Championship is just around the corner and the qualifying process for all countries is nearing its end. Some of the best international teams will take part in the draw as excitement continues to build ahead of the coveted European tournament.

When is the European Championship 2024 draw, where can you watch it and what time?

The full draw for the Euro 2024 tournament will take place on Saturday, December 2, 2023. The draw ceremony will take place at the Elbphilharmonie concert hall in the city of Hamburg, one of the ten host cities of the competition and host of five matches (four group stage matches and one quarter-final) .

How does the draw work?

Now that Germany has automatically qualified as hosts, a further 20 places for Euro 2024 will be awarded to teams that have passed the qualification process, as winners or runners-up of the 10 qualifying groups.

The last three places for Euro 2024 will be contested by twelve teams based on their performance in the 2022/23 UEFA Nations League. The play-offs will be held in March to reduce the number of twelve teams to three finalists, of course from those who did not qualify for the event through the first route.

Qualified teams will be allocated to one of four pots (1, 2, 3, 4) before the draw, based on their results in the qualifying group stage. Host nation Germany has been drawn into pot one, but will not be drawn as they are automatically assigned to Group A.
