Bulgarian Prime Minister Nikolai Denkov criticized the police for beating Bulgarian fans of the country’s biggest clubs. His words are quoted Sport.

“It is absolutely unacceptable that this continues to happen. We must speak out publicly and strongly condemn all forms of police brutality.

I cannot be the head of a government that beats people on the street like this. There is a culture among some in the police where it is normal to beat defenseless people, children and women, with batons. This is absolutely unacceptable,” Denkov said.

In mid-November, Bulgarian fans in Sofia held a mass protest against the management of the Bulgarian Football Union, whose decisions, according to the fans, prevented them from reflecting their feelings in the stadiums. They also demanded the resignation of the head of the organization.

The police used water cannon and pepper spray against them. Thousands of people were detained, several dozen people were injured on both sides.

Previously reportedIt was stated that more than 30 people were injured in riots that broke out during a match in Germany.
