New York Rangers’ Russian forward Artemy Panarin commented on his double in the New Jersey Devils match. His words are quoted press service National Hockey League (NHL).
“I’ve been on the ice probably 26 years. So I know exactly where the goal net is,” Panarin said.
The match ended in victory for Rangers with a score of 5:3.
Panarin extended his NHL regular season goal streak to 15 consecutive games.
He thus set a new Rangers record by achieving the longest point streak since the start of the championship, surpassing the achievement of Rod Gilbert, who scored points in 14 consecutive starts in the 1972–73 season. The Russian also became the best in NHL history among all Russian players with a similar indicator. Before that, the record belonged to Dmitry Kvartalnov. He made his debut in the 1992-93 season with 14 assists in a row.
The Russian has appeared in 15 NHL games in total this season, scoring nine goals and 16 assists.
Previously Alexander Ovechkin named Washington’s winning recipe this season.
