AMC Fight Nights middleweight champion Vladimir Mineev talked about talking with his colleagues in the special operations zone before fighting Ivan Shtyrkov. Mineev quotes his words Sports24.
“What do my colleagues write? They are waiting for me back. Do they immediately congratulate you on your victory? No, what do you mean immediately? Do they sit there and watch TV? NO. I am in contact with my company commander. They wished me good luck and are waiting for me when I return with some gifts,” said Mineev.
Mineev won by unanimous decision (30-29, 30-27, 30-27). The fight took place in Sochi.
On November 18, 2022 in Moscow, Vladimir Mineev defeated Brazilian Fernando Rodriguez in a fight according to kickboxing rules. Immediately after this fight, Mineev signed a contract to serve in the ranks of the Russian Armed Forces. He served in the Northern Military District area.
