Liverpool winger Luis Diaz would fulfill a childhood dream if he moves to Barcelona, his father says.
The Colombian has been linked with a move to the Spanish side in recent weeks following his impressive performances for the Reds. Interest in the 26-year-old is likely to have increased after his brace led Colombia to a 2-1 win over Brazil in World Cup qualifying.
The winger’s father has given Barcelona a boost in their hopes of signing the former Porto star by admitting his son is a big fan of the Catalan club. Luis Manuel spoke just over a week after his release by the National Liberation Army (ELN), an insurgent group that kidnapped him and his wife before being released 12 days later.

“The truth is that I know very little about Barcelona at the moment. It is true that Luis is a loyal Barcelona fan and it would be his dream to go there,” he told Win Sports. “So far I would like to thank Porto and Liverpool for the way they have received him. Luis is a player who finds it easy to win because of his way of being, his humility, his work and his dedication. He is a player who is very disciplined. Thank God. There would be no problem if Luis came to Barcelona because it is a top team and one of the best in the world,” he said.
Luis Díaz will return to action when Colombia plays Paraguay on November 21. Meanwhile, his father hopes his captors will be punished under Colombian law after his abduction at the end of October.
