World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Director General Olivier Niggli said the organization did not intend to influence national legislation. His words are quoted RIA News.
“When studies are carried out in cooperation with us regarding the introduction of laws into legislation, there is no problem. We encourage governments to consult us if there are areas that need to be corrected. But we have no intention of influencing national legislation,” Niggli said.
On September 22, 2023, WADA announced that RUSADA continued to fail to comply with the World Anti-Doping Code. Additionally, WADA punished 218 Russian athletes based on data obtained from the Moscow laboratory.
The World Friendship Games will be held in Moscow and Yekaterinburg from 15 to 29 September 2024. This is the first multi-sport competition to include performances in all 25 Summer Olympic and non-Olympic sports.
