Nurmagomedov will remain Bellator champion

The Bellator promotion will decide on the status of the champion in the lightweight category of Russian fighter Usman Nurmagomedov when the B doping test opens. MMA Fighting Bellator president Scott Coker said:

On November 11, Nurmagomedov was disqualified for six months for an anti-doping rule violation and the result of his fight with Primus was annulled. The BJPenn publication reported that Nurmagomedov will be deprived of the title and, accordingly, his rival will reach the Grand Prix final.

Nurmagomedov, 25, remains undefeated. He has 18 mixed martial arts fights and has come out on top in all of them, including winning eight of them by knockout.

Usman Nurmagomedov is the cousin of former Russian Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.
