“The idea of combining classical sports and e-sports reflects the image of Russia as open to everything new, aimed at progress and at the same time capable of harmoniously combining its original heritage and modernity. “Participants and guests of the “Games of the Future” will be able to see this for themselves when they come to Kazan, where different traditions and cultures develop and enrich each other,” Putin said.
The President drew attention to the importance of sports and Olympism principles in shaping the “Games of the Future” philosophy. Stating that the competition has already brought together representatives of fifty countries, Putin also emphasized that this is just the beginning. Inviting everyone to participate in the competition, the Russian leader concluded his speech with the words “See you in Kazan!” He concluded with these words:
“Games of the Future” will start in Kazan in 100 days – the tournament will be held from February 21 to March 3, 2024.
The phygital concept event, a sports show in a new format, will combine competitions in physical and digital dimensions, with athletes competing to the limit of physical and digital abilities.
More than 2 thousand athletes are expected to participate in the first tournament, with the participation of 260 experienced teams from more than 100 countries.
