Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev repeated his compatriot Yevgeny Kafelnikov’s record of wins against the top 10 players of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) in a calendar year.
On November 14, Medvedev defeated Andrei Rublev in the Final Tournament in Turin. This victory against a player ranked in the top 10 of the ATP rankings was Medvedev’s 11th victory of the calendar year. By this indicator he caught Yevgeny Kafelnikov. He achieved this success in 1994.
In the next round, Medvedev will face Spanish Carlos Alcaraz and Rublev will face German Alexander Zverev. In the first round, Zverev defeated Alcaraz with scores of 6:7, 6:3, 6:4.
The second group includes Italian Jannik Sinner, Serbian Novak Djokovic, Dane Holger Rune and Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas.
The last ATP tournament will take place between 12-19 November.
Serbian Novak Djokovic continues to lead the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) rankings (9,945 points). Spanish Carlos Alcaraz ranks second with 8,455 points. Daniil Medvedev is in third place with 7,200 points and is the best Russian. Andrey Rublev is in fifth place (4,805 points).
