Saudi champions Al-Ittihad will appoint Julen Lopetegui as his next coach.
- Lopetegui is ready to join Al-Ittihad
- He was last with Wolves in the Premier League
- He has previously been waiting for a job in the Premier League
WHAT HAPPENED? After parting ways with former Tottenham Hotspur manager Nuno Espirito Santo following a string of poor results and an alleged clash with Benzema, the defending champions are ready to turn to the former Spain and Real Madrid manager, according to Ben Jacobs.
THE BIG PICTURE: Before resigning in the summer, the Spanish manager was in charge of Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League the previous season, helping them avoid relegation. Despite parting ways with Wolves earlier this year, Lopetegui has remained in England. Although he was keen to return to the Premier League, he is now close to signing with the Saudi Arabian Pro League club.
