Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White in an interview on the subject Adam’s YouTube channel Irish fighter has revealed the timing of Conor McGregor’s return to the octagon.
“I spoke to him yesterday. Conor is doing great, he’s totally ready to come back. But he’ll have to undergo doping testing for six months. I think he’ll fight next summer. Quite realistic,” White said.
34-year-old McGregor’s last fight was against American Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. The meeting ended in the first round, as a result of which the Irishman suffered a broken leg.
At the end of October 2022, it was reported that McGregor could return to the Octagon no later than six months later. An athlete must be drug tested for six months and submit two negative tests before being allowed to compete.
McGregor is a former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion.
