The scandal surrounding Valieva broke out after it was revealed that traces of the banned drug trimetazidine were found in a doping test after she won the team competition at the Beijing Olympics. Despite this, he was allowed to compete in the individual championship and finished fourth.
Valieva’s case is being reviewed by CAS. The hearing was held in September, but the court postponed the case to November for the preparation of additional documents. CAS will issue an opinion at the end of January 2024.
