Russian skier Alexander Bolshunov talked about his relationship with Johannes Klebo.
The 25-year-old Russian said he had no contact with the Norwegian. Bolshunov noted that they only met eye to eye before they started. “I understand that I want to pass him, and he understands that he wants to pass me. One look – two seconds – and we immediately disperse, we do not talk anymore, but we get things done during the race, ”says the athlete TASS.
At the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing, Bolshunov won gold in the skiathlon, marathon and men’s relay, silver in the time trial and bronze in the team sprint.
This made him the first Russian skier to win five awards at an Olympics. In total, the Russians have nine Olympic medals, considering the Games in Pyeongchang in 2018.
Klebo, 25, is a five-time Olympic champion, six-time world champion, three-time World Cup champion and two-time Tour de Ski champion.
