It is one of the big questions about which teams will advance to the round of 16.
It goes fairly evenly Champions League 2023/24 and several teams will have to start doing the math regarding their place in the round of 16. Here is an overview of how it is defined in the case of equality of points.
Group stage tiebreak criteria
1- Points in matches between teams with an equal result.
2- Goal difference in matches between teams with an equal result.
3- A greater number of goals scored in matches between teams with an equal result.
4- Best goals average in group matches.
5- Highest number of goals scored in group matches.
6- Highest number of goals scored away from home in group matches.
7- Highest number of wins in the group.
8- Highest number of away wins in the group.
9- Lower score of cards: the red ones count 3 points, the yellow ones 1 and the exclusion for a double yellow 3 (not 1+1+3, but only 3).
10- Best UEFA coefficient.
