Amir Khamitov, Deputy Chairman of the Russian State Duma Committee on Physical Culture and Sports, appealed to international football organizations with a request for the extradition of the Russians. The text of the letter has been published RIA News.

“I call on the International Football Federation to return Russian clubs and the Russian national team to international tournaments held under the auspices of FIFA and UEFA,” Khamitov wrote.

He also noted that Israeli clubs participate in European cups.

“We need to give the same opportunity to Russian athletes. “I call on the International Football Federation to reconsider its decision regarding the Russian national team and Russian clubs in order to avoid the obvious policy of double standards,” the letter says.

In the spring of 2022, the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) decided to suspend the participation of the Russian national team and all Russian clubs in all competitions controlled by these organizations. From spring 2022, Russian clubs and the national team will play only friendly matches.
