Dinamo Moscow head coach Marcel Licka admitted that he did not watch the match between Spartak and Krasnodar in the Russian Cup, on which his team’s advancement to the play-off round depends. His words are quoted legal betting.
“Did you watch the match between Spartak and Krasnodar and supported Spartak? No, no, I was watching hockey. To be honest, I expected Krasnodar to win, but frankly I did not support anyone. I always focus more on myself and my team. The result of the match did not matter to us because we were confident in our game: If we win, we move on. That’s why I watched hockey calmly,” Lička said.
Spartak, which was guaranteed to participate in the play-offs on November 1, lost to Krasnodar with a score of 2:3 in the final match of the Russian Cup group stage. Only victory in the match could guarantee Marcel Lička’s team’s advancement to the play-offs.
On November 2, Dynamo beat Paris Nizhny Novgorod with a score of 2:1. Yaroslav Gladyshev scored the winning goal in extra time.
The blue-white team was defeated by Togliatti’s Akron team in the penalty shoot-out in the Russian Cup semi-final last season.
