Yuko Kawaguchi, a three-time Russian champion in pair skating who also competed for Japan and the USA in her career, admitted that she did not believe that figure skater Valieva was doping, describing her as a bright and nice girl. His words lead the way RIA News.

“She is a very talented skater. I can’t compare her with anyone. I really like her, it’s beautiful to look at her. We didn’t communicate much with her, we were just in the same locker room. As for the doping story, anything is possible in this life, but in Valieva’s case this is probably not true,” Kawaguchi said .

A doping scandal broke out around Kamila Valieva during the 2022 Olympics. A banned substance was found in the sample taken by the athlete in December 2021. They wanted to disqualify him from participating in the Games. Literally a day before the start of the women’s individual competition, it was decided to admit her to the tournament.

He did not win a medal in the individual tournament, but took first place in the team championship. In case of a positive decision, the Russian team could lose its team tournament medal. New hearings of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Valieva’s case will be held on 9 and 10 November. His interests will be represented by a lawyer from the UK.

Valieva will compete at the Russian Grand Prix in November.
