Voronezh “Fakel” head coach Sergei Tashuev talked about the arrest of former football player Alexei Bugaev, whom the specialist trained in “Krasnodar”, with drug shipments. In his comments to socialbites.ca, Tashuev attributed Bugaev’s problems to genetics and also agreed with the views of Bugaev’s former teammate Maxim Demenko.
“Lyosha was a very strong football player, a player of the Russian national team. He had good anthropometry, was tall and had football intelligence. But it seems to me that there is a genetic problem, although it is not disclosed at the moment. I think it’s a matter of genetics and it’s not his fault, it’s his misfortune.
Did Max Demenko call him naive? Yes it was. Max played with him and I coached them both. However, “coach-football player” is a different relationship. Lesha was calm, without unnecessary emotions – a professional who does his job well. But he had problems off the football field. This is probably his fate – unfortunately, it happens.
Have I seen him in recent years? NO. When I finished training him, I never saw him again,” Tashuev said.
In his professional career, Alexey Bugaev played for Lokomotiv, Krasnodar, Tom, Khimki and Torpedo. The defender played seven matches with the Russian national team and did not score a goal. He decided to quit football in 2010, when he was 29 years old. According to the Transfermarkt portal, Bugaev reached the peak of his market value in 2005, when he defended the colors of Lokomotiv. The portal later valued it at 2 million euros.
