Two-time Stanley Cup winner Sergei Nemchinov expressed his opinion that New York Rangers forward Artemi Panarin could reach 100 points by the end of the current National Hockey League (NHL) season. Nemchinov quotes his words metaratings.ru.
“Artemy wins points, the team wins. I hope he can score 100 points in the regular season, he has the ability to do that. One of the best players in the NHL. Could he approach the playoffs in a similar manner? It’s hard to talk about it now. We will see when the time for the qualifiers will come,” Nemchynov said.
In the regular season match against the Winnipeg Jets (3:2 overtime), the 32-year-old forward scored a goal and two assists. Panarin scored for the ninth straight game; this became the record for goals scored at the start of a season in the 21st century.
On October 19, ESPN journalists and analysts compiled a ranking of the National Hockey League’s top 100 players playing in the new 2023/2024 season. Panarin ranked 32nd on the list. The best Russian was Tampa Bay Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov, who was ranked eighth.
