Apple held a presentation in which it announced a new generation of MacBook Pro with M3 processors. These are the first chips for personal computers built on 3nm process technology.
According to the company, the M3 generation represents the biggest advancement in graphics architecture for Apple processors. Compared to the M1 generation, the base M3 is 35% more powerful in computing and 65% more powerful in graphics.
The next version, M3 Pro, has 30% more processing power than M1 Pro. The GPU is up to 40% more powerful.
The most technologically advanced processor is M3 Max. The 40-core GPU is 50% faster than the M1 Max.
All new M3 processors support hardware ray tracing and mesh shader technology – the latter was used in the new one Alan Wake2.
The new MacBooks feature a 1000-nit Liquid Retina XDR display, a built-in 1080p camera and a six-speaker sound system. The battery life is up to 22 hours.
The devices will go on sale on November 7. The basic version of the MacBook Pro with an M3 chip and a 14-inch screen costs $ 1,599 (147 thousand rubles). MacBook Pro with M3 Pro costs $ 1,999 (183 thousand rubles) for 14 inches and $ 2,499 (229 thousand rubles) for 16 inches.
A MacBook Pro with the M3 Max chip will be released later in November. According to The Verge, the most expensive version with 8 TB of internal memory and 128 GB of unified memory costs $ 7,199 (660 thousand rubles).
