There was someone who crossed paths in the war Messi vs…. Christian Ronaldo, just as he crossed Zadar as a child amid the bombs of the Balkan War. It was a random battle between two of the giants of world football. It was in 2018 that the white ten won the highest individual award a footballer can choose. The Croatian defeated the man who was no longer his teammate after a change of scenery, Cristiano Ronaldo and Antoine Griezmann.
Four years later, in 2022, Karim Benzema won the Ballon d’Or title again with Real Madrid.
Before the Frenchman and Modric, Cristiano Ronaldo had lifted the trophy in white four times: Cannavaro, Ronaldo and Figo, besides Di Stéfano, were the other Real Madrid owners of the Ballon d’Or.
