Usik and Fury will not fight in December 2023

Promoter Frank Warren, representing the interests of Tyson Fury, explained the Briton’s reluctance to fight Ukrainian Alexander Usik. His words are quoted Boxing Social.

“No, we will not plan a fight with Usik for December 23, Tyson will not be ready to get into the ring. He fought a very tough fight today. He will need time to heal. When he returns to training, there will be 5-6 weeks left until his fight with Usyk. So that won’t happen in December,” Warren said.

On March 2, it was learned that the fight between Alexander Usik and Tyson Fury was disrupted. The fight between these rivals was scheduled for April 2023 and then moved to December.

Usyk had his last fight in Poland on August 26 and defeated Briton Daniel Dubois. The Ukrainian player retained his world championship title according to the International Boxing Federation (IBF), World Boxing Organization (WBO), International Boxing Organization (IBO) and World Boxing Association (WBA).

Fury defeated former UFC champion Francis Ngannou in a tournament in Saudi Arabia on October 29.
