Journalist Score John Matish believes that after recent productive games, Washington Capitals’ Russian forward Alexander Ovechkin is starting to “work” like an engine.
“The old engine took a while to start. Ovechkin, who scored into an empty goal on Wednesday, had to learn to walk before he could run. He had to shake off the rust, adapt to how defenders were guarding him, and muscle his way into the hole.
His emotional outbursts in recent meetings show that everything is fine with him,” Matish wrote.
On October 28, in a National Hockey League (NHL) regular season game against the Minnesota Wild, Ovechkin had an assist. Russia has 2 goals and 4 assists in total this season.
During his entire NHL career, the Russian forward scored 823 goals. The difference with Wayne Gretzky is 70 goals. In third place is Gordie Howe, who scored 801 goals during his NHL career.
