British boxer Tyson Fury made a strange statement regarding his title fight against Ukrainian Alexander Usik in an interview with IFL TV.
“Usik is a dirty little skinny bastard. I’ve got something for you little sausage, I’ll show you soon. Usik has been on the missing persons list for several minutes. But we still know what awaits him. To hell with it,” said the Briton, without specifying what he meant.
Usyk and Fury are scheduled to fight for the undisputed heavyweight world title in Saudi Arabia on December 23, 2023 or January 2024.
Tyson Fury defeated his compatriot Dereck Chisora in December 2022. He won by technical knockout in the tenth round. He has 33 wins (24 by knockout), one draw and no losses. Fury is the WBC world champion.
At the end of August, Usyk defeated Briton Daniel Dubois. The fight ended with an early victory for the Ukrainian: in the ninth round, the Ukrainian knocked out his opponent – Dubois did not have time to reach the referee’s count. The fight took place for the world titles WBA-Super, WBO, IBF, IBO (Usik’s second defense), The Ring (Usik’s first defense) heavyweight titles.
