Former Lokomotiv President Nikolai Naumov shared his thoughts on the game of 35-year-old Zheleznodorozhniki striker Artem Dzyuba, drawing attention to his positive impact on the team. His words were reported by the publication “Sports every day”.
“We must pay our respects to veteran Dzyuba. Of course, there was a lot of talk about him, but we still have to say that he strengthened the team in the locker room. “He doesn’t always play well, sometimes he fails in matches, but his presence always has a positive impact on the team,” he said.
Dzyuba signed a contract with Lokomotiv last season. Later, the player and the club extended the contract under the 1+1 plan. If Dzyuba scores 12 goals this season, the contract will automatically be extended for another season. Before that, the striker played for Adana Demirspor in Turkey.
In the new season, Dzyuba played 10 matches in the Russian Championship and three matches in the National Cup and scored three goals and three assists. The team’s top scorer in the Russian Premier League (RPL) this season is Nair Tiknizyan (four goals).
Previously at Lokomotiv saidDzyuba bombarded the locker room with jokes.
