Former Russian national team football player and current Paris Nizhny Novgorod coach Sergei Yuran said that he was sent to the military for three months because of his arrogance. His words are quoted “Sports Express”.
“We lived in the Soviet Union and were taught not to be arrogant. When I arrived at Dynamo Kiev, I started scoring goals for the reserve team, they started pulling me into the first team and my head started to spin.
Then I might be late for training or not show up at all. I’m a star, I can do anything! And Lobanovsky said that I should think about my behavior. “That’s how I got into the unit,” Yuran said.
Yuran played for Dynamo Kiev from 1988 to 1991. As part of the club, he became the champion of the USSR and the winner of the Cup. Later, the striker played for Benfica and Porto in Portugal and was transferred to Spartak in 1995. He played eight matches for the Muscovites and then moved to England to join his girlfriend and started playing for Millwall. Also in his career were the German “Fortuna” and “Bochum”. Juran’s last club was Austrian Sturm.
Yuran has been coaching Paris NN since April 2023.
Former foreign coach statedthat no one in the world cares about Russian football.
