NHL star appreciates Ovechkin’s consistency after failing to score in first four games

American forward “Toronto Maple Leafs” Auston Matthews said he has no plans to follow the successes of Washington Capitals captain Alexander Ovechkin. Matthews was quoted as saying official site National Hockey League (NHL).

Matthews has 300 goals in the NHL. He scored 6 goals in 5 matches this season.

“I don’t think about it. His accomplishments deserve to be recognized. He’s been consistent over the years and has been close to the record. He’s been incredible and has been one of my favorite players since he came into the league. His consistency and health are very impressive to say the least,” Matthews said.

In this season of the NHL regular championship, Alexander Ovechkin took part in four matches of the team and made two assists.

The Russian player continues to follow Canadian Wayne Gretzky, the best sniper in league history with 894 goals. Ovechkin has 822 goals.

In the next game, Washington will play against Toronto. The match will be played on October 25.
