It was a good point that Eldense visited Racing de Ferrol in a match where the local team had more chances. Heber scored 1-0 on the clock, but with Salcedo’s goal in the 81st minute, Blaugrana managed to get a good point from A Malata. This draw marks the Elda side’s third game without losing and gives them the opportunity to add five of the last nine possible points.

Fernando Estévez made two changes to the starting XI against Elche. He chose Carlos Hernández in the defensive axis, Íñigo Piña and Álex Bernal instead of David Timor in the middle of the field.

Eldense emerged well planted on A Malata lawn, but A Racing de Ferrol looking more comfortable in its stadium. The Ferrolans came into the match undefeated after five matches played, but Estévez’s team started as usual in this season’s outings, uncomplicated and looking for the opponent’s goal.

Center back Dumic was careful throughout the match CD in hand

Deportivo started to sit back and wait for the local players within the first few minutes of the quarter hour of the match, when the Galicians pressed with several corners in a row. The Catalans had doubts at the back and Andoni Zubiaurre could not resolve the actions with confidence.

Opportunities for both

When they suffered the most, Iván Chapela fired the clearest shot after a shot that left goalkeeper Cantero stretching to avoid taking a 0-1 lead. From then on there was no clear dominance of the game, too much emphasis in the middle of the field but no team approaching the opposition half.

As the match entered the latter part of the first half, a cross from Ferrol’s left flank in no apparent danger caused Carlos Hernández to clearly miss in the clearing, leaving Elche’s Álvaro Giménez alone in front of the visitors’ goal. Luckily, the Alicante team could not open the scoring as the ball hit the post. With the score at 0-0 and the feeling that the draw could be considered valid, a break was called after a new defensive failure.

Ferrol continued the pressure after passing the locker room.. The tempo of the game was quite slow in the first 15 minutes. Mario Soberón had a chance for Elda’s side but his shot narrowly missed the target. Despite this, there was a feeling that the Ferrolans, having less, posed more of a threat than the Blaugrana.

As the hour approached, Ferrol turned this danger into the first goal of the match. Heber has a good game on the left wingEvading Toni Abad and finishing against Zubiaurre, who didn’t extend his leg to avoid the Galicians’ first goal.

Efficient changes

Despite this, Eldense did not lose face in the duel. Juanto Ortuño and Salcedo’s entry into the double wing changed the outcome of the match. In the 80th minute the Ferrol side took a low goal kick, Juanto was careful to steal the ball and Salcedo put the ball into the net after a precise strike in a move reminiscent of his goal against Elche.

Before this game, Losada and Sabin Merino managed to finish the game, but their shots did not hit the goal. Eldense knew how to defend the result and added another point at home. Now they need to perform well at home against Amorebieta on Saturday, October 28 (14:00).
