On October 22, the first stage of the ISU Skate America Grand Prix in the USA ended and the winner in the men’s category was American Ilya Malinin. After two performances, he scored 310.47 points. The second one was French representative Kevmn Eymoz (279.09). Shun Sato (247.5) from Japan completed the top three. Eteri Tutberidze’s student Nika Egadze is in fourth place.

Malinin, 18, is an American of Russian descent. He performed the quadruple axel cleanly in the free program for the first time in history at the US International Classic tournament held in Lake Placid (New York, USA) in September 2022. He was included in the Guinness Book of Records for the performance of this element.

Last season, he managed to win a bronze medal in single skating and a gold medal in the team competition at the World Championships.
