The middleweight fight between Khamzat Chimaev and Nigerian Kamaru Usman at the UFC 294 tournament held in Abu Dhabi (UAE) has ended. The judges awarded victory to the Swedish fighter of Russian origin.
On the night of September 11, 2022, Chimaev fought his last fight against Kevin Holland. The Swede of Russian origin defeated the American in the first round, making not only a suffocating hold but also a painful lunge.
It is worth noting that the moment Chimaev appeared in the octagon, he was greeted by the public with a deafening roar. Let’s remember that he could not make weight at the weigh-in before the main fight against Nate Diaz in the UFC 279 lightweight tournament.
In total Chimaev had 13 fights and won them all.
The Nigerian fighter had his last fight on March 18, 2023 and lost by decision to Leon Edwards (England). He has 24 fights in total, 20 of which ended in victory.
The main fight of the UFC 294 tournament will be the rematch between Russian Islam Makhachev and Australian Alex Volkanovski.
