This event, in collaboration with the Alicante City & Beach Tourist Board, Alicante Sports Destination and the Provincial Council, brings together nearly 400 professional and amateur athletes from Alicante, including great figures in this discipline.

Mari Carmen Sánchez, deputy mayor and chairman of the Tourism Board, said: “The World SUP Festival Costa Blanca has become an international benchmark and has put the island of Tabarca on the watersports map by bringing together the first paddle boarding swordsmen.

“It helps promote tourism through the spread of the event, as well as seasonal adjustment,” added Sánchez.

The organizer of the “World SUP Festival Costa Blanca” is an athlete from Santa Pola Daniel Parres, and a full program of sport-related activities has been developed in parallel with the competition. for the public of all ages, be it tourist routes, workshops, conferences, presentations, musical performances, performances, exhibitions or cooking, among others.

The competition started with a test 200 meters of the “Sprint” Spanish Championship in open water. Today, the Eurotour International League race is held in 7km Open and 15km Elite modalities. Also on the same day canoe and foil tests are being developed. On Sunday, the Open International Technical Race concludes with a thousand-metre race.
