Washington Capitals captain Alexander Ovechkin shared his opinion that he did not take a shot in two consecutive National Hockey League (NHL) games for the first time in his career. Ovechkin quotes his words press service capital team.
“Everything is happening for the first time. As a player, you want to shoot, score, create opportunities for your teammates and yourself. We had a great training camp. We felt good. But when the season starts you realize something is missing,” Ovechkin said.
The Washington Capitals actually abandoned the idea of rebuilding their roster before the team captain’s contract expired. Ovechkin’s contract will run for three more seasons, including the current season. At the beginning of the regular season, Washington has now collected two points with one win in three matches. The Russian striker has only one assist.
