Anfisa Reztsova, three-time Olympic champion in biathlon and cross-country skiing, passed away at the age of 58. This was reported by press service Russian Biathlon Union (RUB).

“On October 19, Anfisa Anatolyevna Reztsova died at the age of 59. We extend our deepest condolences to his family and friends. “The date and place of the funeral will be announced later,” the statement said.

On March 28, it was learned that Anfisa Reztsova had a heart attack and was hospitalized.

Anfisa Reztsova performed from 1985 to 2000. She became an Olympic champion in ski racing in 1988. In 1992 Reztsova won the Olympic biathlon sprint, and two years later she took first place in the biathlon relay at the Lillehammer Games.

Reztsova is also a three-time world champion in cross-country skiing.

Reztsova’s sports career lasted from 1985 to 2000. In 1985, the athlete began training in the Dynamo sports community in Vladimir under the guidance of her husband, Leonid Reztsov.
