Pavel Mintyukov, the 19-year-old Russian defender of the Anaheim Ducks club, was recognized as the third star of the regular season match with the Carolina Hurricanes of the National Hockey League (NHL).
The match, which took place at the Honda Center stadium in Anaheim, ended with the victory of the home team with a score of 6:3. Mintyukov scored the Ducks’ third goal. His assistants were Jackson LaCombe and Ryan Strome. This goal was a first for the Russian defenseman in the National Hockey League.
The first star of the match was Anaheim’s American forward Frank Vatrano, who scored a hat-trick. In second place was Ducks goalkeeper Lukasz Dostal, who converted 32 of 36 shots into his own goal.
Mintyukov was selected 10th overall by the Anaheim Ducks in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. In July 2023, the team signed him to a three-year entry-level contract. In May 2023, Mintyukov, then playing for the Ottawa 67s, won the Max Kaminsky Award, given annually to the best defenseman in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).
Tarasenko’s early goal helped Ottawa beat Tampa.
