Russian tennis player Andrei Rublev reached the final of the Masters tournament held in Shanghai (China) and won $662,360. In addition, he and his compatriot Karen Khachanov played in doubles. There they reached the 1/8 finals and received $16,730. Thus, Rublev earned a total of about $680 thousand in Shanghai.
In the final of the tournament, Rublev lost to Polish representative Robert Hurkacz with sets of 3:6, 6:3, 6:7.
Rublev is ranked seventh in the Association of Professional Tennis Players (ATP) rankings with 4,550 points. Serbian Novak Djokovic continues to lead with 11,545 points. Spanish Carlos Alcaraz ranks second with 8,715 points. Russian Daniil Medvedev (7490 points) completed the top three. Hurkacz is ranked 17th. Rublev will move up two places in the ATP rankings thanks to reaching the final of the tournament in Shanghai on October 16.
In July, Rublev won the tournament in Båstad (Sweden), beating Norwegian Kasper Ruud in the final with scores of 7:6 and 6:0.
