Russian Football Union (RFU) president Alexander Dyukov will remain a member of the executive committee of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), as the decision to suspend Russian clubs and national teams does not affect officials in the organisation. This was stated by UEFA in response to a request from Polish publication Sport.

In the statement made by the organization, it was said: “The decision of the UEFA Executive Committee to temporarily suspend Russian clubs and national teams on 28 February 2022 does not affect the Russian officials in the UEFA Executive Committee, UEFA committees and commissions.”

Dyukov was elected to the UEFA executive committee in April 2021, his term is valid until 2025.

In the spring of 2022, the International Football Federation (FIFA) and UEFA decided to suspend the participation of the Russian national team, as well as all Russian clubs, in all competitions controlled by these organizations.

In September 2023, UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin said that Russian clubs and national teams would return to competition only after the end of the SVO.
