Former champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), Kamaru Usman, published a post on his page on social networks, in which he talked about the upcoming fight with Khamzat Chimaev. Usman replaced Paulo Costa, who withdrew from the fight due to a staphylococcal infection.
“Let’s do what we’re used to doing. UFC 294,” Usman wrote.
Khamzat Chimaev competes in the middleweight and heavyweight categories in the UFC. He made his promotional debut on July 15, 2020, at UFC on ESPN 13, winning by submission against John Phillips. His next fight took place ten days later at the UFC on ESPN 14 tournament against Reece McKee, where he also won by knockout.
On the night of September 11, 2022, Chimaev fought his last fight against Kevin Holland. Khamzat defeated the American with a painful hold in the first round.
