Russian fighter Roman Kopylov announced on his page on social networks that he is ready to replace Paulo Costa in the fight with Khamzat Chimaev, which is expected to take place in Abu Dhabi as part of the UFC 294 tournament.
“I am ready to fight with Chimaev instead of Kostya,” Kopylov wrote.
On September 17, Kopylov knocked out Josh Fremd in the second round of the UFC tournament. Now the Russian has 14 fights in mixed martial arts. He had 12 wins and two losses. Warrior has been performing professionally since 2016. Kopylov is the former middleweight champion of Russian MMA promotion AMC Fighting Nights.
Before this fight, the Russian had five fights in the UFC: defeats in 2019 and 2021, and victories in 2022 and 2023. On July 30, Kopylov knocked out Brazilian Claudio Ribeiro at UFC 291.
