Washington Capitals captain Alexander Ovechkin was included in the list of the most interesting players of each team of the new season of the National Hockey League (NHL). ESPN.

The list also includes Russians Ivan Barbashev (Vegas Golden Knights), Ilya Samsonov (Toronto Maple Leafs), Sergei Bobrovsky (Florida Panthers) and Igor Shesterkin (New York Rangers).

Ovechkin, who played in 74 regular season games in the NHL last season, scored 42 goals and 33 assists. However, this did not help the Capitals reach the tournament’s play-offs. The Russian player currently has 822 goals scored in his NHL career. The difference with Wayne Gretzky is 72 goals. The Canadian has 894 goals and remains first among snipers in NHL history.

Washington will play its first game of the new season against Pittsburgh. The match will be played on October 14.
