UEFA confirms UK and Ireland as hosts of Euro 2028 and Italy and Turkey as co-hosts of Euro 2032

Euro 2028 will be held at 10 locations in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.

Great Britain and Ireland were the favorites to host the European Championship after ending their quest for the 2030 World Cup, which FIFA awarded to Spain, Portugal and Morocco. The Principality Stadium in Cardiff is expected to host the first match of 2028, while the final will be played at Wembley Stadium in London.

Glasgow’s Hampden Park, Dublin’s Aviva Stadium, Belfast’s Casement Park and Everton’s Bramley-Moore Dock are included, along with Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Etihad Stadium, St. James Park and Villa Park.

Turkey had submitted its bid to host Euro 2028 and 2032 but withdrew from the former after UEFA ratified its 2032 bid. A potential shortlist of twenty stadiums has been drawn up and ten finals will be selected before October 2026. Italy and five in Turkey.

Although Turkey hosted the UEFA Champions League final in 2023, it has never hosted a major international tournament. Meanwhile, Italy hosted the European Championships in 1968 and 1980 and the Rome Olympic Stadium was also selected as the venue for Euro 2020.
