Journalist Hockey Writers Rupert MacDonald said National Hockey League (NHL) Rangers hockey player Artemi Panarin does not deserve his salary.
“Panarin does not deserve his $11.64 million salary, given his performance in the last two Stanley Cup championships. But he more than justified that amount during the regular season,” MacDonald said.
The New York Rangers were eliminated in the first round of the last National Hockey League, losing to New Jersey in a game-of-seven matchup. Panarin played all seven games in the playoffs and had two assists.
In the regular season, the Russian player played in 82 matches and scored 29 goals and 63 assists.
In August, Panarin was fined 40 thousand rubles for firing a gun in an unspecified area. The punishment could have been harsher, but the Borovichi District Court approved such a measure because Panarin admitted the crime and this was his first time committing such a crime.
Previously Panarin acceptedHe said he felt very bad last season.
